Nick fundraising for Cancer Support
Liz was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2022. The diagnosis came out of the blue and was a huge shock. At 42 years old, Liz was feeling fit and healthy and had no risk factors or family history. Following the diagnosis things happened really quickly. The doctors explained that although it was in the early stages, the cancer was agressive and Liz would need a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The months since then have been incredibly tough. During the surgery the doctors discovered the cancer was already in the lymph nodes. The prognosis is still good but Liz is currently undergoing grueling chemotherapy.
Discovering Cancer Support Switzerland
Shortly after her diagnosis, a friend mentioned the services offered by Cancer Support Switzerland and since then Liz has been supported by a truly fantastic counselor from Cancer Support Switzerland. ‘The counseling sessions have helped me immensely during my lowest moments and I really don’t know how I would have gotten through the past months without the support from them.”
Their peer support programme, yoga classes and Walk’n Talk have also been incredibly helpful during this challenging time.
The whole family are so very grateful for the services offered by Cancer Support Switzerland. It has made a huge difference to how we are all managing.
Saying thank you
Nick, Liz’s husband, has set himself the challenge of running the Geneva half marathon on May 7th to raise funds for Cancer Support Switzerland. Thank you Cancer Support Switzerland for all you have done to help Liz and her family and good luck to Nick for the run!
